The Valiant Codex

Brave adventurers! Hark and fear no darkness, monsters must be slain, adventure must be sought, and all must know your valor. Those who hear a call to adventure and want to train under experienced and talented individuals will come and try to join The Valiant Codex. They are known throughout Chaokota as the place to hire individuals or teams when you are in trouble. Oftentimes they are hired by Lords or Magistrates to help with arcane or monstrous problems within the city or demesne they ruled over, especially when they do not think their Honor’s Guard will be enough.

The Valiant Codex is led by Archchampion Thunder Distant Rain, a Tabaxi lioness woman. She is known as a fierce warrior and a cunning leader. She is assisted by Archmage Valigant Burn, a Lizardfolk man who focuses on the training of mages and the acquisition of magical artifacts for the Codex. Battlemaster Gauthak “Steadyhand” Thuamanaki, a goliath man is in charge of training new recruits. Lower officials include: Champion Zayne Lightspark - a nonbinary human, Champion Vezera Dythkis - a male silver dragonborn, Champion Memen Monstana - a female Tiefling, Mage Nuta Berevan - an female elf, Mage Hammer - a forgedfolk, Mage Ulbrikt Stormmaster - a male dwarf. Low Champion Kenny Rofferton - a male halfling, Low Champion Xalva Cord - a female half-elf, Low Champion Aberstad Griffer - a male dwarf. Low Mage Felix Calavor - a male human, Low Mage Gergi Snapshower - a male gnome, Low Mage Nalamia Ythik - a female red dragonborn

The Valiant Codex was formed over 100 years ago by one of the first traditional adventuring parties after nearly dying while defeating a cult known as The Wrathful Hand, worshippers of Iwe. Using their party’s name, they started an adventuring guild that eventually added an academy. Other adventurers, wanting to work with the legendary heroes, quickly swelled their ranks Today there are several adventuring parties, each led by a Champion, Mage, Low Champion, or Low Mage. Their focus is on doing good deeds for money and fame and because it’s the right thing to do.

Their headquarters is in Caucophony, The Exalted Chapter, however they have footholds in three other major cities, Septor, Giantsbane, and The Bricked City. Septor’s headquarters is known as The Middling Chapter and is led by Nuta Berevan. Giantsbane’s headquarters is known as The Watchful Chapter and is led by Memen Monstan. The Bricked City’s headquarters is known as The Thoughtful Chapter and is led by Hammer.

The Valiant Codex works in “parties” of adventurers that can be hired. The following are established parties that can hired:
