Somnian

Man sagt, dass die Somnians entstanden sind, als Jādū - "Gott" der Magie vor langer Zeit gegen das Universum gekämpft hat und sich die ersten Konzepte bildeten. Sie seien Jādū besonders nah. Obwohl sie so direkt mit ihm verwand sind, haben Somnians jedoch keineswegs die Macht ihres Erschaffers übernommen.

Geborene Illusionisten

Somnianer entstehen in der Traum-Ebene, in welcher die Zeit langsamer vergeht und ihre Magie stärker wirkt. Ein Somnian in der Traum-Ebene kann mit seiner Magie Träume für schlafende Kreaturen weben. Außerhalb Manifestieren sich seine Fähigkeiten in seiner angeboren Illusions-Magie. Ein typischer Somnian verspürt immer den Drang, andere zu beeinflussen. Er setzt seine Magie ein um zu inspirieren, Symbole des guten zu erhalten und Gerechtigkeit zu schaffen. Somnianer sind natürliche Philosophen und suchen meistens Professionen, in denen sie sich besonders gut ausdrücken können oder bei denen viel Interpretation nötig ist: künstlerische Betätigungen, akademische Berufe oder die Wahrsagerei sind häufige anlaufstellen.

Somnianer leiten Träume und damit auch Bestimmung, Inspiration und Realisation. Somnianer leiten die Wesen der materiellen Welt in Richtung ihrer Ziele.

Bleibende Erinnerungen

Somnianer sind meistens großzügig. Sie schenken viel und verlangen wenig zurück. Ein wahrhaft selbstloser Somnian kann sein eigenes Leben opfern um eine andere Kreatur wiederzubeleben. Meistens tut er dies für Personen, die ihm nahe standen, aber auch viele Poeten, Herrscher und Gelehrte haben ihr Leben einem Somnian zu verdanken. Oft suchen leidtragende verzweifelt einen Somnian auf, in der Hoffnung, er tauscht sein Leben gegen das eines Fremden.

Ability Score Increase

Your Wisdom score increases by 1, and one other ability score of your choice increases by 1.

Age

Somnians begin life as wispy spirits and reach maturity around the age of 30. They can live to be 500 years old.

Alignment

As the sculptors of dreams, somnians emphasize imaginative freedom.  They value expression and understanding and reject reality when it is oppressive. Somnians tend towards chaotic good.

Size

Somnians are the same height and build as humans. Your size is Medium.

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Empath

You have proficiency in the Insight skill.

Astral Architect

You know the minor illusion cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast detect thoughts once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. When you reach 5th level, you can cast major image once with this trait, and you regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for these spells.

Nightmare

As an action, you assume a terrifying form. Choose one creature that you can see within 60 feet of you. The target  must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you for 1 minute. The DC for this saving throw equals 8 + your Wisdom modifier + your proficiency bonus.  A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Once you use this trait, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.

Remembrance

You can cast the resurrection spell once with this trait, requiring no material components. When you do so, you immediately die, and your body withers away in a cloud of starry dust. The resurrected creature awakes with a memory of yours (chosen by you). A somnian who sacrifices themselves in this way can only be brought back to life by a wish spell.

Als wohlgesonnene führer der schlafenden ist der Umgang mit Somnianern in der Regel sehr angenehm. Jedoch trägt jeder Somnian einen kleinen Fleck Dunkelheit in sich auf welchen er zugreifen kann um furchterregende Formen anzunehmen:

Somnian Names

Somnians look like humanoid galaxies. 
They have shadowy frames sprinkled with tiny luminescent stars.
  Somnians derive their names from the constellations on their
twinkling frames.
