Matrices

In Uraidone, a spellcaster can cast spells by performing verbal, somatic, and material components as normal. However, in order to cast any given spell, the spellcaster must also have that spell's matrix–a complex two-dimensional shape–firmly affixed in their mind. If the spellcaster does not have a matrix memorized, they can use a matrix sheet to cast it instead by looking at the sheet rather than envisioning the matrix in their mind. This process expends a spell slot as normal, and they must still know and provide the other components. People with Aphantasiacannot visualize a matrix, but they can still use matrix sheets.

FOR PLAYERS: Matrices look like QR codes, and must be memorized completely before casting the spell from memory this is why most people are not wizards.
