Elf

Elves are a more elegant and refined race. With low opinions on most other races and thinking they know best as such they live away from most other races. Not to mention they pride themselves on knowing everything, though modest elves do exist.

Anatomy

Elves are a slender, tones bipedal race with tipped ears and most (males included) keep their hair rather long.

Growth Rate & Stages

They can live anywhere til anywhere between 1000 and 2000 years but that's not to say they cant live beyond that. Most elves are still treated like children until after their 500th *birthday*

Ecology and Habitats

Elves generally like wooded or forested areas as they shape certain trees into their homes and are able use the plants to survive.

Dietary Needs and Habits

In terms of dietary needs the elves can live off nothing but plants if they have to however they enjoy the taste of fish over meat.

Biological Cycle

Appearance wise they age rather slowly never looking a day over 250 however hair continues to grow and their minds age gaining more knowledge as they grow.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

In the times before magic elves had their knowledge of plants and all they could do. Once the Time of Arcanium came they elves where granted a substantial magical well; those alive at the time gain an magic well with a greater capacity (1500) though as time went on it lessened but they still have greater magic wells than most (450). On top of that their is a 1 in 10 chance of obtaining a gift.

Naming Traditions

For Elves most feminine names end in 'a' or 'o' with most masculine names end in 'ous'. And as for family names it more based on the name of their location. Example - 'of the plains' Though this is only from smaller cities those from the larger cities use the city names.

Considering they see themselves as elegant and pristine they do not settle for any less.

Genders are Male and Female.

Elves primary language is 'Elvish' however many elves can fluidly speak a variety of languages.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

Funeral Rites; Upon the death of a elf they are taken into what is known as 'The Forest of the Ancients' to which they are laid in a clear and the rite of regrowth is performed. This takes the elves magic energy and converts the elf into a tree. Though the dying may wish to have this performed a head of time resulting in tree that somewhat holds the face of the elf.
