Cat Person

Basic Information

Anatomy

Cat people are like regular homo sapiens but have cat ears and a cat tail.

Genetics and Reproduction

There are three ways cat people can reproduce. One is homo sapiens (or transhumans) genetically altering themselves to have the traits of cat people. Another way is by cat people having children with other cat people. The third is by cat people having children with other human species.    The cat people are compatible with homo sapiens. That means the two species can interbreed and produce healthy offsprings. When that happens, 50% of the offsprings have cat ears and tail, and 50% do not.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

The cat ears give them really good sense of hearing. The human eyes allowed them to see more colours than cats, but cannot see well in the dark.

Civilization and Culture

History

The first generation of cat people was created in 2044 by a team of weeb geneticists that were funded by Elon Musk. That first generation were exclusively female. Growing up, many of those cat people developed psychological issues due to the way they were treated by homo sapiens, and ended up removing their tails and replacing their ears with human ones.   As this was happening, many people who had been born homo sapiens chose to get genetically altered in order to become cat people themselves. Those became known as the second generation of cat people, and had a more balanced male to female ratio. These ones were treated a lot better than the first generation and had become the way they were by choice. As a result, they didn't have nearly as many psychological issues as the first generation.   Over time, not only did more and more homo sapiens decide to become second generation cat people, but those cat people started having children on their own. Those children became known as the third generation of cat people. This concept of genetically modified people that have tails and/or ears of animals became so popular that more variation followed. Those include fox people, wolf people, squirrel people, lemur people, bunny people, and many others.   As space colonization became feasible, cat people joined the homo sapiens, as well as the other transhumans in the cosmic journey. They now live in every inhabited star system, even on the recently settled frontier worlds.
