The Reckoning proved to be the perfect catalyst for humanity to clutch its new destiny. Before the Reckoning, human empires existed alongside elven and dwarven empires. Now in the new world, they dominated. Forming the new nation of Oshatan, humankind pursued its manifest destiny to bring every scrap of land under their new flag. Before reuniting with the dwarves, humans mostly accomplished this with rudimentary steamships. This early success and mastery over firearms proved invaluable in building empire. Perhaps humans were adapted to the new world or perhaps they had not yet learned the sorrow of imperial folly. Either way, the burgeoning humans exploded in population across the world. Now they exist as the cosmopolitan race of Oshatan and its associated territories.
