Abed

A colonial star system with a Blink gate, Abed is a yellow main-sequence star with several gas giants and gas dwarves, and one rocky planet, in orbit. The system's relatively large planet mass leads to unusual orbits, especially of the many asteroids in this relatively young system. Two planets and 6 moons are inhabited by colonists. Its oldest colony, on Abed-3 (a.k.a. Greatstone), is only 292 years old, and its Blink gate is only 74 years old. The increased interface with Union resulting from the Blink has increased rather than decreased friction and fomented the current unpleasantness.
