Magic can’t function properly where unnatural things exist, and vice versa. All things natural are magic, and magic is suppressed locally where machines are used. There are four planes or realms of existence, Neutral, Machine, Magic, and the Divine. Each with their own setting and world, though they are less far apart than one might initially think.   Human/neutral plane – a combination of mostly human countries, set in late medieval/early enlightenment. Created through natural means, formerly Earth. Post apocalyptic, though not obviously so, nuclear war ended 250 years ago with few remnants. It has been influenced by both magical and machine factions for hundreds of years. Its dragon died.   Machine/metal plane – Directly connected to the human plane through portals, completely built, everything artificial or biologically engineered. Not everything orderly, only the head of the main machine faction. Ruled by a metallic dragon.   Magic plane – Warps and grows though the chaotic influence of magic, though much has been warped and used to create with purpose, like a Bonsai Tree. Ruled by a colored dragon.   Fourth/’divine’ plane – Created by the three dragon siblings, each of which represent certain planes. This fourth representing their creation, a literal dragon the size of a realm, destined to reunite the four planes into one super-reality.
