Under the Neon Glitches

The world has changed.

In the year 22(something) life is cheap.

  The future is aglow with neon lights, high gleaming towers, and chromed implants. The powerful elite live above the filth, pollution, and fear in their shining skyscrapers. While the other 99.5% scrape by below.   Mega-corporations fight for control over every aspect of life -- blood is spilt over what you eat, what you see, and what you wear.   The government was bought out well over a century ago, not that they were effective anyway. Too wrapped up in partisan politics and grandstanding.   Global warming was left unchecked for far too long. Now considerable parts of all the worlds’ coastal developments are destroyed or partially flooded. World temperatures are consistently higher on average and extremes of weather are more common with each season seeming more amplified.   The old suburbs have been turned into blasted out battle grounds. Here Street Gangs fight for turf, Mega-Corp Security details wage secret wars, and the Nomad Clans make temporary encampments between caravan runs along the old Interstate System.
