Wyrm Mating Formations
Ouroboros - The formation most commonly associated with wyrm mating rituals. It's defined by a loop shape, though the participants can be facing in either direction. It involves the most contact of conventional mating formations, which some wyrms like but others are uncomfortable with.
Helix - The participants' bodies crisscross in a helix formation. This can be as loose or as tight as the participants see fit. "Losing scales" is a common euphemism for two wyrms getting in such an intense battle of wits their helix tightens and their scales begin to scrape off from the friction.
Standoff - An unusual position for several reasons. Not many formations involve both parties stopping and standing up. It also involves one of the only instances of hand-holding in wyrm culture; the participants will make up for a lack of bodily contact by placing their hands together.
Free Form - A catch-all term for irregular mating formations. Most participants will get in a formation like this at least once during a mating ritual, even if just as a transitionary stage. It's completely possibly for an overzealous couple to accidentally tie themselves together this way.
