11XX ET (Era of Tranqilus)

It has been 35,000 years after Ragnarok. Most Gods have died, all men have died, and the old world has died.   But a new world that has risen from the waves, and a new generation of mankind has established itself in this land. Mankind, in its new form, still has a lot to learn about the world, their ancestors, and themselves. Yet many elders would warn against learning of the old world, for fear of what subhumans remain in the ruins of those glass towers.   But this new world is not a paradise, as always, there is quarrel amongst men as kingdoms and tribes vive for power and control, as the new species of humanity must fight to survive if they wish to live and flourish. But there are also rumors that forces birthed from the war-sparks of Ragnarok are feasting on the corpses of the old Gods, which hunger to rule over us. In ancient texts that did survive the flood, they told tales of a mystic who ventured the afterlife and returned with visions of a land not unlike our own, a plane of existence he dubbed The Umbral.
