History
The religion was founded by Solus after the birth of life in the realm
Mythology & Lore
The universe itself was created by the presence of Solus, the god of the sun. Solus created Ins as a partner, who birthed many more gods and goddesses. Solus was unsatisfied with his creations, however, and gathered as much iron as he could find across the land, forming it into a sphere in the sky. Usng his power and part of his own essence, Solus ignited the sphere, bringing light to most of the land. He was betrayed and killed by his daughter Locke, however, and the sun was never finished. As he died, Solus cursed Locke with darkness, darkening her visage with shadow and forcing her from the place of the gods to live among the darkness she so loved.
Divine Origins
The religion was brought to the land by Solus after the birth of life.
Tenets of Faith
Live righteously and pursue justice.
Stay watchful for the schemes of the darkness.
Power of any kind is a gift of great value; use it with wisdom.
Ethics
Living righteously and seeking justice for wrongdoings is expected of all followers of the religion. Anything less than this ideal is a sin.
Worship
Worship is any method of reaching out to Solus to give power and thanks.
Priesthood
The priests of the Church of the Iron Sun are selected at an early age to serve the gods. They undergo a series of tests and trials to determine their place in the church. Those who are worthy become priests, paladins, and clerics. Those unworthy are sent to earn a living as farmhands.
Granted Divine Powers
Clerics and paladins are given power from Solus to carry out his will. Priests are given powers of healing and rituals.
Political Influence & Intrigue
Rulers lower than the king are watched closely by the church for signs of sin. If any sin is found, the noble must atone through worship, donations, and acts of service.
Sects
Sects can include any organization following Solus or and gods under him, such as the Order of the Vengeful Sun.
