Ulcrath

We give conscience to the beasts and the machines, we manipulated their flesh but also ours to make new life, breeding new types of soldiers and slaves that along with the machines served our glorious species. But we were punished for that, we fall from the stars and ended in this planet because we were unworthy of our godhood." -Sermon from a Malachite Priest, attributed to Saint Holb of Merkara   Ulcrath is a planet in a solar system with two suns (one red and one yellow) were 10,000 years ago a human colonial fleet crashed, due to an attack, a human mistake or some ulterior force, no one knows. But the settlers survived the landing, and were forced to create new societies from what survived from the ships, a so the city-states were born. Eventually they forgot their history, they mystified their arrival and thought that the technology of their ancestors, seeing them as gods that came from the stars.   This has created a world divided in city-states, were humans and non-humans (including native sentient species from the planet, mutants and descendants of castes and breeds created by humans in the stars) live, and were technology is stagnated. They use the few energy weapons and artefacts they can scavenge and are capable of terrible things along with swords, bows and spears, incapable of replacing the ones that are lost.   In Ulcrath new religions, nations and armies have risen, and they fight like the warriors of the past and the soldiers of the future for their own goals and beliefs. Using psionic powers, steel and rayguns adventures will explore ancient ruins from fallen civilizations, both humans and alien, and will fight the horrors that plague this world, while warriors and soldiers will fight in new wars, as humanity looks at the stars for answers.
