History

Originally a mithral mine Forduin became home to the Forgefire mountain Dwarfs and soon other clans joined the mining operation under the Forgefire Clan. When the dwarves expanded deeper into Mount Hepheseth a massive cavern of yellow and orange ivon crystals was discovered, unfortunately the Dwarves could not celebrate their discovery while fire elementals began assaulting the expedition.   After retreating the Dwarfs built Barricades to hold off the elementals attacks, under the guidance of the Demigod Thorim Forgefire the dwarfs sent scouts and discovered there were two elemental factions battling for the Mountains control the elementals that attacked them were fire elementals who's planar territory seemed to have been tainted with void corruption and were using the crystals to feed their hunger. Thorim prayed to his Father and maker of the Dwarves to bless his plan of allying with the corruption free fire lord Hepheseth, and headed to the fire lords throne. Thorim offered the fire lord the aid of his people and resources to push back and defeat the opposing faction and after a surprisingly long conversation discovered that the Hepheseth's planar territory had been merged deep into the mountain and the ivon crystals had made it possible for his elemental forces to exist within the mountain without suffering from planar fatigue since for unknown reasons he could not return to the plane of fire.   Thorim and the fire lore Hepheseth agreed to aid each other in fighting the void touched fire elementals and after many grueling battles that would later be called the primordial conflict the dwarven and fire elemental forces succeeded in defeating their enemies. However now they were now left to deal with each other, Thorim again prayed to his father for guidance and wisdom. The fire Lord Hepheseth saw this and felt a strange kinship with the Dwarf who led these mortals , at that moment Thorium the God of the dwarves manifested and offered Thorim a place in his hall in Anuris to become part of the pantheon. Thorim Forgefire surprised at this great offer held back his instinct to agree on the spot and instead thought of the clans that had pledged to serve his expedition and gave his answer; "Oh great Father I am humbled at the gift you offer but my greatest wish is to serve my people, if you would allow it i would like to relinquish my divine right and power that comes from you and offer it back so you may bless not only myself and my people but the forces of Hepheseth who so valiantly fought at our side becoming kin to so many of us". Thorium was truly surprised at this request and for the first time in millennia he was awe struck, the Fire Lord Hepheseth surprised at Thorim Forgefire request of a God humbled him, he approached the manifestation of Thorium and to his subjects surprise bowed and offered his total submission to the God of fire and forge binding himself and his subjects to the Gods will.   Thorium bestowed upon the the Fire Lord and the dwarves under the banner of Forgefire his blessing and with the Divine energy offered by his son merged the elemental spirits and the Forgefire clans souls, and thus truly becoming one with each other. This binding freed the elementals from the confines of the mountain and gave the Forgefire Clan new meaning and swore to protect the fires of the mountain and their fire kin, the elementals in return forever offered their warmth and fire and be the power to grow the Forgefire clan   Soon after the City of Forduin was built and as the dwarves expanded and built new settlements within the mountain they swore allegiance to Forgefire and the city of Forduin.
