Eladrin

The Eladrin are a powerful and mystical race whose origins extend back to ancient times. These then-immortal beings were among the first to study magic and let it loose throughout the world, they were the first humanoid species to walk on Tythis and were born from remnant energies left over from the cosmic light that gave birth to the New Gods. The Eladrin are the ancestors of all Elves and Orcs and were previously thought to be extinct, however recently were encountered in the eastern most continent of Tythis by a group of adventurers. Not much is known of their current civilization.  

Ability Score Increase

Your Dexterity score increases by 1, your strength score increases by 1 and your intelligence score increases by 2.  

Age

Eladrin reach physical maturity at about the same age as humans and their understanding of adulthood goes beyond physical growth to encompass worldly experience. Eladrin typically claim adulthood and an adult name around the age of 100 and can live to be thousands of years old.  

Alignment

Creatures of magic born when the physical planes were a single plane of existence, they have strong ties to nature and light and Eladrin live in the twilight realm of the Wilds. Their cities sometimes cross over between the Physical Planes, appearing briefly in mountain valleys or deep forest glades before fading back into the Wilds.  

Size

Eladrin range from under 6 to over 7 feet tall and have lean muscular builds. Your size is Medium.  

Speed

Your base walking speed is 30 feet.  

Darkvision

Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You are able to see color in darkness.  

Keen Senses

You have proficiency in the Perception skill.  

Eladrin Weapon Training

You have proficiency with the longsword, shortsword, shields, shortbow, and longbow.  

Connection to the Wilds

You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put you to sleep.  

Trance

Eladrin don’t need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is “trance.”) While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become reflexive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.  

Languages

You can speak, read, and write Common and Sylvan (Quelssian). Sylvan is fluid, with subtle intonations and intricate grammar. Sylvan literature is rich and varied, and their songs and poems are powerful and famous. Many bards have traveled deep into ruins to learn their language so they can add Sylvan ballads to their repertoires.

Genetics and Reproduction

For Unknown reasons Eladrin are unable to procreate unless they give up their immortality, but if they do they reproduce with a male and female coupling and produce offspring.

Growth Rate & Stages

Eladrin age similar to humans but do not reach adulthood until they reach the age of 100. They live for thousands of years, but for many their long existence becomes to much to bear and instead choose to ascend to another form of life.
