A massive, harsh world millions of years old where it seems like life exploded at one point, resulting in more different kinds of lifeforms than it seems the planet and its inhabitants can manage. Vulnerable and devoid of arcane or divine magic, the inhabitants of this world were instead gifted with the same elemental powers that the gods are said to have shaped the world itself with. However, these gods were not incorporeal, they used to inhabit the world long before the humanoids did, but vanished at one point.

These Precursors left many great structures, technology, and magical artefacts behind. The humanoids use these technologically magical marvels to further improve their own society and to better understand the Precursors, but most importantly, to protect themselves from the dangerous wildlife outside their civilizations.

In their modern societies, which is comparable to late 19th century Europe, Precursor artefacts are at the centre of the economy. Finding these is crucial to the betterment of civilization. All of this resulted in a society of explorers determined to uncover the secrets of the Precursors for their own survival, all the while not becoming separated because of their elemental differences.
