Interplanetary Union
Structure
The Unions structure is highly regarded as a fair and equal one. Each of the races has voted for a diplomat to represent their race, along with an assistant for their diplomat. Diplomats and assistants are permited to vote for things once they've made it clear that they understand the situation and laws surrounding the situation (if there are any). Assistants are in place to have a second opinion from the perspective of a certain race. Each of the Tyrethian races has a place in the council, along with every other race on each planet. Behind these diplomats and assistants is a series of generals that work as guards on the mothership and guards for hire on personal spaceships. Behind them is the pilots, then the ship engineers.
Public Agenda
The I.U. aims to unite the races that surround Tyreth, in an attempt to avoid conflict and protect one another from outside threats.
Assets
The Interplanetary Union is in possession of an orbiting space station, a colossal mothership thats orbitting the dead planet, Orion.
History
In 14-6-7125 AG, the Interplanetary Union was founded, it's first members were Tyrethians and the Hexalith. Years later, in 7130 AG, the Wisps joined the cause. In 7293 AG the combined forces of the Nironians, Kralians, and Oroxians joined after their planets were thrown into chaos.
Union members are often respected by the people, but have been known to be called "Alien Lickers" by certain groups to express their distrust of alien races and how they believe that the Union is bowing to the needs of alien races.
Laws
The most significant laws are four simple ones:
The transportation of illegal substances in space is punishable by both the origin planet and the destination planet.
Use of an unregistered spaceship is punishable by a large fine and confiscation of the ship.
Transportation of a fugitive will be met with lethal force if needed, and you will be imprisoned with the fugitive.
Murder of an individual in space is punishable by the law of the race killed.
These laws are highly strict but not brutal, they are generally not flexible.
