Ephrynn
Humans are a well known race on Tyreth and on Earth. However, there are some key differences between the seemingly similar races.
Tyrethian Humans, more commonly known as Ephrynns, while similar in social structure and social norms, have some very obvious differences when it comes to biology and appearance.
At first glance you'd assume they're just like Earth Humans, however, upon interacting with them you'll see just how different they are. Due to their ancestors and thousands of years of adapting to their surroundings, their voices and hearing are highly altered. Their voices are angelic and almost seem like they aren't coming from their bodies when they speak. There is usually a second, deeper tone behind their voice, almost like a distant echo that is heard at the exact same time as their normal voice. When they're young, this "second voice" is a higher pitch, as they age this secondary voice is the one that gets deeper. Their "first voice" never changes.
Their ears are constructed in a way that allows them to hear significantly more than a normal human. These almost sculpted ears appear almost like an elf ear, but with odd ridges and sometimes curled toward the pointed end. In women, offshoots that almost look like antennae or a drop of water with a thin trail behind it are very common. While a lot of these unique features may look like a deformity, ear deformities are actually unheard of. A deformity of the ear, for them, could be lethal. It is said that they see as much with their ears as they do with their eyes, as they possess a certain talent for mapping out areas in their mind by just hearing how the sound echoes and bounces.
Ephrynn eyes commonly appear to have little to no pupils. They lived in a region that was often in low light, causing their pupils to actually take over their eyes. This gives the appearance of a fully colored eye, with an ombre center that turns almost white no matter what color their eyes are. This makes their night vision very effective, but makes most of them almost blind during the day. Over the years, Livaet have perfected contact lenses that create a barrier around most of the pupil, making their vision closer to that of a normal humanoid race.
They reside on the western continent, south of the Empire of Breshai. This peninsula is known for its ethereal forests, which have towering trees that are thousands of years old. These trees have expansive canopies that keep almost all sunlight out. The fauna and flora of this region have adapted to this by having bioluminescence and great night vision. This includes those of Ephrynnian descent. In low light or in their homeland, their skin reveals slight patterns of stripes and dots which glow in different colors when in contact with different things in their forests. These markings can also appear when they're sleeping or dreaming, even when not in darkness. Each Ephrynn's markings are unique to them, like a fingerprint.
These magical and eerie forests have low levels of oxygen, as a result Ephrynn lungs are larger and actually doubled, meaning they have four lungs instead of two like Humans. This allows them to hold their breath for an absurdly long time, and makes their breathing seem layered if they do breathe heavily. Due to the number of lungs, they only use two at a time, and the lungs alternate use. Their breathing is very slowed and can seem almost like they aren't breathing at all. This skill was very useful when the forests were filled with dangerous animals, but now it is used to sneak around the forest floor without scaring prey animals.
Because deadly predators used to prowl on the forest floor and even in the branches above, Ephrynn are entirely scentless. Even after laborious tasks or working with strong odors, their skin does not pick up any scent. This allowed them to sneak by entirely undetected.
Hybrids, the race that descended from Ephrynn and Talvyr, have inherited some of the common Ephrynn traits.
Basic Information
Ecology and Habitats
The Ephrynn homeland is an immense forest which, due to its preceved danger, is entirely cut off from other fauna and flora in the area. Despite this, Ephrynn are still very social creatures, as they grew alongside the Ithris in this forest, and proved that Ithris are not a legend or myth.
Ephrynn try very hard to keep their races footprint in the forest minimal. They build tree cities and don't farm. They hunt and gather, trying very hard to keep their presence minimal.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Ephrynn are capable of eating both plants and meat, and even have a special talent for being immune to most poisonious plants. Their ability to preserve food for years is something other races have studied closely and tried to recreate.
Behaviour
Ephrynn are peaceful and talkitive, and are often very friendly. They're known for being able to tell if someone is lying very easily, and use this to their advantage.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Their society is free. Being a peaceful and calm race, they tend to not commit any crimes, and are often seen as the human version of Agnor for this reason. They are godly despite not worshipping a god, and have no need for a leader for this reason.
Facial characteristics
Their eyes are about 5% bigger than an Earth humans, and their teeth are more pointed. Female Ephrynn can be more angular and "aggressive" when it comes to facial features, leading to what is perceived as a more serious and adult look. Despite all of this, they're often described as elegant and feminine, even some of the men.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Ephrynn are generally confined to their city in the trees, on the Western continent. This is where their precious forest is located and they tend to not stray too far from it.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Their night vision is second to none, however this leaves them nearly blind in full daylight. Their hearing is also phenomenal due to the unique shape of their ears and the ears inner workings. It has also been observed that their sense of smell is incredible.
Civilization and Culture
Naming Traditions
While they don't have much when it comes to traditional names, they do have certain endings they gravitate towards. For females, the endings "yn", "ryn", and "li" are common for first names. For males, the endings "syn", and "wyn" are common. The unisex ending for a name is "ae." They typically do not have last names that are spoken out loud.
Beauty Ideals
Bright colors are ideal, including marking color, hair color, and eye color.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
A common tradition among Ephrynn is using various plants to temporarily "dye" their bioluminescent markings.
They carry necklaces with a symbol that represents their last name, instead of having a word for their last name. These necklaces can be made of petrified wood or smooth stone, and are typically a family heirloom.
History
Their race was combined with the Talvyr race over two thousand years ago, and their numbers went down significantly after this event. Purebred Ephrynn became somewhat rare for a few hundred years, to the point where some races considered them extinct. Since then they've repaired their standing in the world.
In present day, their ambassador, Jae, has created a positive relationship with the Earth humans.
Historical Figures
Jae, the immortal and at one point supposed "last" Ephrynn.
Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
Ephrynn live in the same forest as the Ithris, an all female fairy type race which they have befriended over thousands of years.
Scientific Name
Sylvalis
Lifespan
130 years
Average Height
4 to 6 feet tall for women
4 to 7 feet tall for men
Average Weight
100 to 200 pounds, depending on sex and diet
Average Physique
Their bodies are almost the same as an Earth humans body, but they have a wider ribcage, which accounts for their four lungs. They tend to be muscular, as they climb trees and walk on the forest floor every day. They only eat what they need to, which causes them to be either a little underweight or the average weight for their height.
Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Their unique markings react with compounds in their environment to make unique colors on each of them. However, it has been observed that the natural color of these markings is generally a pale purple when they're not in their forest.

I really like your names and ideas! Am I correct then, that both Ephrynn and 'earth' humans occur in your storyverse? Also, I was reading through your World Meta and was wondering, is Jae an Ephrynn? Or a Livaet? Good work and fun to read!
Actually, Jae was originally a Livaet but I wanted him to be an Ephrynn because I felt I had too many Livaet already. And yes, Earth is involved later on in the story. When it becomes an actual game, you will be able to play the story from the perspective of a Human on Earth learning about Tyreth and it's creatures, which I think will be really fun. I appreciate the feedback!
