Goakehn

Description

Goakehn are an 8 ft tall, four-legged bird with small, vestigial wings. They come in a variety of neutral feather colours ranging from brown and buff to white. Males are crowned with large, ornamental horns that curl as they age; you can tell the age of a male Goakehn by how many ridges are on his horns. They subsist on feed grain, but are also known to eat bugs, snakes, and small rodents that wander into their grazing pastures.

Domestication

Originally native to the vast plains of the Free Kingdoms, Goakehn were domesticated in Sarnja thousands of years ago. They serve as meat animals, egg-layers, and beasts of burden, and are gentle enough to be trained to saddle or pull carts and wagons.
