XXII Maius, AUC MMCIII

In a parallel world to ours, the Roman Empire rose amongst nations of elves and dwarves, orcs and bugbears. The Empire has long endured, but recently, disaster struck. Northern outposts have been destroyed, leading the client states of the elves and dwarves to break away from Roman rule. In the south, Egypt and the Ancepti Coast have been overrun by monsters. The Empire’s borders have constricted for the first time, and enemy powers are on the rise. But are these setbacks occurring all at once by chance, or is some sinister force behind them all?
