Tanulas

Scion of Progress

  Born in Spring, Tanulas represents a process of growth, learning, change and evolution. She is often depicted as woman sitting cross legged with 6 long arms, each holding a different object with each of them representing a different side of her knowledge:
  • A book that represents the written words;
  • A globe that is the world, the idea of understanding the world around you as well as what's outside the world;
  • A feather, representing travel. The fact that in order to obtain knowledge, you have to search for it.
  • A mirror which depicts the importance of looking at yourself and seeing aspects of yourself. It allows you to change and adapt.
  • A jug representing stored potential. The fact that the water inside a jug has potential to do many things.
  • A cog representing the industrial progress, but also the idea of working together; that knowledge is not something that one person can find all by themselves. You need to work alongside others to reach their full potential.
  The same iconography has had her also associated with spiders in the past, although it is not something of her own doctrine. More progressive places of study such as the Academy in Jassaka would have Tanulas as a patron deity.

Rites, Rituals and Holy Days

  • In order to obtain knowledge, you must seek it out
  • There is potential in everything, and everyone

Divine Goals & Aspirations

While Altarics goals for knowledge are to preserve it and make sure only those worthy will get their hands on it, Tanulas instead teaches that knowledge is for everyone. It is not really the preserved knowledge of history she worries about but instead the process of learning and evolution of change and progress she loves so much. Tanulas works for new aspects of knowledge and sometimes changes old things to create new ones. Many scholars revere her for that fact.
