Session 8 (15. 08. 2018)

After arriving near the prison, Aella managed to use the crystal ball to locate Atlas. He was in the prison but deep underground, on some sort of operating table. Dagger tried to use it on Drayfus, but it seemed to be blocked somehow.
The group decided to get in through the sewers they’d discovered. At the entrance, they stumbled into two Regency guards whom they failed to notice but made short work of nevertheless.
After successfully navigating the sewers, they emerged in a room full of odd equipment. Here, they found the scene Aella had witnessed through the crystal ball: an operating table, upon it a motionless form covered with a sheet, with a strange machine pumping some sort of glowing blue liquid into him. Standing beside it, an elven man in a crimson cloak, whom Aella identified as Cyred, someone she knew well from her past.
Cyred removed the sheet, revealing Atlas beneath it, and explained that he had “perfected” him for her, and she should be grateful. He flipped some switches, turning the machine off and waking Atlas up. Proclaiming that it was already too late, he teleported away while Atlas transformed into a fiend. Aella walked up to him, talking to him and trying to get him to recognize her, to no avail. With a roar, he attacked her.
Thus began a desperate fight against the fiend. As the group whittled him down, he grew more and more powerful and dangerous. He chased Carthigan around the room and finally turned against Aella, taking her down moments before Lia finished him off. With nobody able to get to her in time, she bled out buried under her once-lover’s mutated corpse.
The group took Aella’s death hard. Shegal immediately decided to leave, and most people were in agreement. Only Fernando and Lia advocated for looking around; she went to examine the door on the left wall, which appeared to lead towards some cells, while he went upstairs and used Knock on a locked door. He found 2 guards on the other side, who immediately noticed him.
