Session 55 (11. 12. 2019)

In the morning, Lia, Penrose and Obediah went to buy two raks for their journey to the Spine. Thundil introduced them to a pair of large females, which Penrose promptly named Ringo and Paul (soon changed by Obediah to the more feminine Paula). The lizardman had little trouble with the animals, but Penrose had issues from the start. After purchasing some potions, they left Banta Juergo, Penrose riding by himself, Obediah and Lia together, with her navigating. The raks proved to be fast and reliable mounts capable of burrowing while protecting their riders with their carapace.
They made good time, though they didn't manage to catch up to Djaro who, according to Xemina, had left shortly before them. As they crested a hill at dangerous speed, they encountered an unexpectedly steep slope. The side of a crater. Paula burrowed, and arrived safely at the bottom, but Ringo resisted Penrose's commands, and ended up tumbling down the slope. Just as Lia finished healing its wounds, they heard a rumbling sound. As they went to leave in a hurry, a tremendous rock worm burst from the ground, and nearly swallowed Ringo whole. Penrose desperately tried to get back on the rak's back, while the worm attacked them with tentacles. In the end, Obediah went to help, while Lia, after a failed banishing attempt, managed to seize the gigantic creature and hold it in place. Just as they finally began to move out of the crater however, the worm shook off the spell, and rushed after them. Penrose sliced one of its tentacles clean off as they rode past it, and Lia put her remaining strength into enhancing the raks' already formidable speed and agility. The trio galloped away, and the worm eventually gave up the chase.
After their escape, the rest of the day was uneventful and they eventually set up camp in a suitable spot.
In Ellisan Velis, Morgyn, Kim and Isadora exited Vezejin's mansion with Scuffles in tow. The djinn was overjoyed to hear that her house and her collection had been saved (though less thrilled about the banished lion). She offered to pay gold for their service, but they explained to her that what they'd come for was the diamond. As the White Vulture had foretold, she refused to give it to them, even when they offered to bring her multiple diamonds in exchange once they could return home. However, Isadora had an idea, and offered her the yuan-ti chromatic projector the others had given her. As a Material Plane artifact powered by ablooneum, she was interested in it and, after testing it out on her hapless elemental servant, finally agreed to trade the diamond.
They bid farewell to the eccentric djinn, and traveled back towards the Neaf Lilthas village. After spending the night on a floating island, Morgyn was ready for the resurrection ritual. He prepared Vincent's body in the portable hole, and told his companions to think about a sacrifice to help bind him to his body as well as words of conviction to help his soul hold on to something during the process. Isadora offered a book about Highspire that Vincent had lent her. Morgyn began the ritual, which consumed the diamond. Kim said the words - that Vincent needed to come back, Lia was waiting for him. Morgyn had a vision in which Vincent's soul appeared, and Navikran spoke to him. He warned Morgyn that he was avoiding the path his Scion had set before him. He would return Vincent, but no more, until Morgyn finished his task.
The ritual was complete, and Vincent gasped back to life, cold and in pain. He immediately asked where Lia was, but was told she was on another plane. The group soon geared up for the last leg of their travel to the Neaf Lilthas village, though Morgyn would be unable to fulfill his side of the bargain.
