Session 52 (20. 11. 2019)

On the Plane of Earth, Penrose and Lia found themselves in the prison of a dao named Orislutuquarrisudashesh. A prison that had been expecting them - apparently, Berjul had a habit of dumping his enemies in there. The two fought their way to freedom, joined by an old Qaroese lizardman named Obediah. As they learned along the way, Oris was the master of Djaro, the earth genasi magician who had attacked the Storm Sage monastery a couple of weeks back. They also stole an entire barrel's worth of precious crystals, horrifyingly grown and harvested on prisoners.
Outside the prison, the trio found themselves in a gigantic cave with a lake, and saw the lights of a city built into the ceiling. Banta Juergo, as Obediah identified it. They found a smaller side cave off the path that seemed safe enough, and made their camp for the night.
Meanwhile, back on Ellisan Velis, the remaining members of Telum Veritas camped on an island with their Neaf Lilthas guide, Mokki. In the morning, Morgyn messaged Lia with a spell, and the two exchanged information about their situations. Isadora suggested that Lia and Penrose head for the Garador inn in Banta Juergo, and look for a woman named Xemina - the one who had helped her travel to Ellisan Velis after her own escape. However, Lia anxiously asked about Vincent, upon which Morgyn remained elusive; eventually, she had to learn the truth of his death from Penrose. Devastated by the news, she stormed off towards the city, and the other two followed her.
On Ellisan Velis, Morgyn explained to the others that while the White Vulture had granted him the power to resurrect the dead, they needed to find a sufficiently large diamond for the ritual. According to Mokki, this would be difficult: diamonds did not naturally occur on Ellisan Velis, and resurrections, when they did happen, were wished for by djinn. However, she admitted to them that Neaf Lilthas, being at odds with the djinn, had in fact already looked into the use of diamonds, and had acquired one through great effort. She agreed to lead them to the leaders of the cult so that they could plead their cause, and perhaps make a deal.
On the Plane of Earth, Lia, Penrose and Obediah found their way to the Garador. Inside, they met the Galeb Duhr bartender, Grunth, and Barius, who seemed to be Xemina's right hand man. He told them that they'd have to wait until Xemina was done with her current visitor, but she would see them after. They sat down for a drink. Storming out of the back room minutes later was none other than Djaro himself, which surprised Obediah, as nobody in the prison seemed to be aware that he had returned from his mission to Ellisan Velis. He didn't notice them.
Their meeting with Xemina went well, all things considered. She told them the price of planar travel to Ellisan Velis: three thousand gold per person. Not having that kind of money, they offered an exchange of services, and she eventually agreed to give them the same mission she had given Djaro: to retrieve a powerful magical item from the Fractured Spine, an extremely dangerous place. It would be a race between them. Lia assured them all that she had kicked Djaro's ass before, and this time would be no different.
On Ellisan Velis, Morgyn, Kim and Isadora traveled all day with Mokki, until they came to a village that looked no different from the others they'd seen on that plane before. The only notable feature was a magical statue of swirling mist depicting none other than Princess Shadrawai, whose return the Prophet of Neaf Lilthas foretold. Mokki anxiously led them to a house, where they were introduced to High Priestess Olona. She knew all about their heroics at the base, though she still did not approve of Mokki bringing them here. She listened to their problem, but told them she could not give them the diamond, as it was meant for the resurrection of a specific, very important person. However, as it turned out, they had the diamond, but nobody who could perform the ritual; as such, she made a deal with Morgyn. She would point them in the direction of another diamond that she knew of, and in exchange, he would perform the resurrection ritual for them as well.
