Session 3 (11. 07. 2018)
Waking in the middle of the night to an owlbear attack, the party scrambled to defend themselves. Dagger tried to hold the door, but the beast soon broke through. What was worse, it soon became apparent that there were two owlbears! Still, the battle was won without any casualties (save for Lia’s precious beauty sleep).
The rest of the night passed without incident. In the morning, it was decided to let one of their two captives, the young Regency soldier James, go. The pirates kept the other one as they travelled to the nearest town, Brenston. Along the way, Marcus sneaked away. As the remaining group approached the town, Dagger, Chef and Morgyn stayed behind with the captive while Braz led Kim and Lia on a reconnaissance mission.
Visiting the bloo workers’ union, they learned that some unknown prisoners had been taken through the town the previous night. Investigating the local tavern, The Jester’s Miracle, yielded little more information but did get them noticed by two mysterious strangers. Carthigan and Aella tried to follow the three women, but failed miserably. After they came clean, they were led to the rest of the group.
Carthigan explained their plan to attack a nearby Regency prison and free a number of prisoners held there. Hoping that Drayfus and the crew had been taken there as well, the pirates agreed to help. However, tensions between the two groups erupted when Aella noticed the Regency captive and immediately tried to kill him, prompting Braz to shoot her in turn. Morgyn saved the man while Aella settled down to tend her wound.
The session ended as the plan was finally decided: they would pay a visit to an acquaintance of Carthigan’s, who had been the architect of the prison.
