Session 10 (12. 09. 2018)

Pickendale was a little over a day’s journey away, and the group wasted no time. The rainy weather made the trek a dreary one, and they soon sought refuge in a cave. There, they found a large nest made of branches and textile fragments; they couldn’t tell what creature it belonged to, only that it didn’t look abandoned. Further examination by Carth and Gunter turned up a necklace. This turned out to be a magical item, a periapt of wound closure. Carth gave it to Aella. Also during this time, Carthigan examined the strange ablooneum he’d found in the prison and determined that it held transmutation magic.
After the rain stopped, they continued their journey undisturbed. As night fell, more and more people grew exhausted. After pushing on for one more hour, Dagger hurt his leg and tantalizingly close to Pickendale, the party decided to stop for the night. They made their camp and took turns on watch. It was during the second watch that Kim noticed something approaching the camp; going to check it out, she found two owlbears. Yelling for Gunter to wake everyone up, she charged them.
The fight wasn’t a long one, the owlbears never really stood a chance. Especially once Aella got up and blasted them away in an odd attempt to avoid waking Lia up by firing loud guns right next to her. The rest of the night was spent without incident (unless one counted Carthigan’s.... troubles with Fernando).
In the morning, the party woke refreshed. Dagger’s foot injury was healed, but he pretended it wasn’t so he could get a free ride on Gunter’s shield. The remaining journey to Pickendale was a short one, and they arrived at the gates in the early morning. Splitting into three groups, they all managed to pass the guards’ inspection, although Fernando nearly blew it by claiming that Carthigan was both his and Kim’s (who was posing as his wife) uncle.
After reconvening, Shegal led the party to a nondescript door of a rundown building. After a quick conversation, they were let in.
