Strohm's Grave
Built amidst the ruins of an old trading town in the Fields of the Dead, this semi-permanent encampment is an outpost of the Eternal Order. They have maintained a presence in the fields since the order's inception in 1368 DR. This is the largest of their outposts in the area. Due to the relative security afforded by presence of knights and soldiers, a small settlement of traders and farmers has grown around the camp.
The order supplies the camp from Scornubel, via the Trade Way and Triel. The more rare supplies are collected from Baldur's Gate or Waterdeep. The supply situation has been complicated by the rise of Elturgard, who lay claim to the fields.
It acts as a trade hub for the few locals braving the fields to trek to and from Baldur's Gate (aprox 150 miles to the southwest), Elturgard (aprox 100 miles to the south), and to cross the Boareskyr Bridge and the Trade Way to Waterdeep (aprox 50 miles to the northeast).
As the priests and doomguides of the Church of Kelemvor have declared the area a priority of the faith, they've chosen to established a mission in the camp to administer the sacred rites to all those who died in the fields throughout the ages. This is time-consuming work, and is wrought with constant risk of waking the undead. The church is supplied from the Temple of Kelemvor in Baldur's Gate.
The camp is currently led by Commander Kela Iliven. She commands a number of Death Knights, the more lightly armoured sargeants and the order's scouts, the Death Stalkers. The rest of the camp is made up of support staff and camp followers.
The settlement is a mixture of tents and wooden houses, surrounded by watchtowers and a wooden palisade.
The undead activity in the area is still high. The Death Knights patrol the area to secure the local populace and their trade and farming.
The camp is protected by wooden palisades and watch towers.
Gravedigging is big business in the Fields of the Dead.
The Church of Kelemvor has declared sanctifying the fields a priority of the faith.
The camp takes its name after the looted tomb of king Strohm IV, still located nearby.
