Master of the Cause

Jakan is the current Master of the Cause in the Eternal Order, in charge of logistics and dispatches the Death Knights on their vital missions in Faerûn. He is the officer in charge of mission support and often deal with finance, negotiations, diplomatic conundrums and any squabbles and problems the order has with local authorities and nobility on their journeys and in the pursuit of their cause.

In theory he holds one of the key ranks of the order, but less so in practice. The Grand Master has traditionally taken a hands on approach due to the relatively small size of the order, and the Master of the Cause often act as the Grand Master's extended hand, or secretary if you will.
