Hextares Vs Squares

Some game masters prefer hextares over squares for a battle grid. In hextares there are six surrounding spaces meaning a target can be surrounded by a larger number of opponents than on squares. Spaces still represent a 5 foot area and cones/cubes/circular/spherical areas are determined by the DM in both cases.
