The Palatine

The royal palace of the Adrisan court is an imposing building referred to as the Palatine. The building sits at the apex of the city and is almost perfectly square, with tall, thick columns of smokey glass standing at regular intervals on the outer walls. A single road leads from the outer wall into a courtyard of cobblestone, where a grand entrance into the throne room stands.
It is within this building that the Adrisan queen, her wives, and her council of advisors rule her city with a fistful of thunder.

Architecture

The Palatine is built in a severe style, with emphasis on sturdy construction and defensive capability. Like almost every other building in Adrisa, it is built high rather than wide to accommodate for the city's lack of available space.
Very little decoration adorns the outer walls. The crystalline columns are the only objects that break up the stony surface.
