The demonling Rahab the Proud is an ancient fixture of Adran culture. He journeyed to the Accuser-State in its infancy, drawn there by the arrogance of King Berand I and his retinue, and he has resided there in the darkness below the city since.
Rahab has great power and allure, and his form is that of a humanoid man with bright, golden eyes. His powers are those of compulsion, and he loves seducing mortals into taking positions of power that he can compel them to abuse.

Personal history

Rahab was created by the demoness of pain and suffering, Nodwydd. The Poisoner shaped him to cause strife and pain wherever he went, and she sent him out into the Mortal World to do so.
Once Rahab arrived in the Mortal World, it became clear that he was not particularly good at the job Nodwydd had set out for him. Instead, he contented himself with amassing material wealth in way of possessions, servants, and prospects. His natural being was that of pride, and his own inflated self-image corrupted everything he touched. After centuries of doing little but increasing his own treasury, he grew bored, and learned the most dangerous lesson there is for a demon to learn: his immense power was perfectly suited for domination of mortals.
So, he liquidated his assets and vanished, reappearing at the center of economic and political calamities over and again throughout history. Finally, he settled into the Accuser-State of Adra, drawn there by the powerful conceit of the kings and queens that ruled there. He set in motion a cataclysm far beyond anything he had engineered before.

Mental Trauma

Rahab is a demon. He was created by the goddess of agony, and this is reflected in his fragile mental state. It is barely an accomplishment to send him flying into a rage, and he still has a taste for the torture that his mother inflicts.
