Kingstand

A small village within the boundaries of the Adran kingdom, Kingstand is famous for two things: the wealth of fragrant herbs and other plants grown in the vicinity, and the vast field of ancient statuary that stands on the fringes of town.
Kingstand provides a valuable service to the larger city of Adra. The fertile ground provides a chance for locals to grow essential reagents for alchemical processes undergone in the capitol.

Government

A local magistrate, the Honorable Savosa Trethis, rules over the village of Kingstand. Savosa, a rare dracan face in the area, spends most of his time with the local Prelate of Thunder, investigating the fields and the workers on a semi-regular schedule.

Infrastructure

Kingstand is a unique place in this temperate part of the world. Where most nearby settlements are more than able to grow what they need in way of food, Kingstanders grow their own food and food for their northern Adran neighbors. Greenhouses are a common fixture in Kingstand, and most families pride themselves on size of their greenhouses. Kingstanders also, with few exceptions, have large cellars beneath their homes. These cellars are used primarily for storage, but the drying, soaking, fermenting, and other preparatory processes also occur in these basements.
