Cyro

The island of Cyro is a large landmass that sits at the far west of the world. Depending on who you ask, it is the first or last island in the Irelessan Archipelago. Either way, it is the northernmost island of any decent size.   Dominated by the Breakblade Mountains in the interior, Cyro is home to the infamous kingdom of Adra and a number of settlements founded by dwarves in the Dawning Days. Cyro is historically relevant for its distinction of being one of the only places never conquered by invaders from the Elemental Planes.

Geography

The most significant feature of Cyro is the Breakblade Mountains, which fill the island's interior. The Glassmere River flows from high-altitude lakes and streams, emptying into the northern Stormbreaker Ocean. The southern edge of the island is mostly temperate forest with few hills, and the northern edge is known for its expansive plains.   The coasts of Cyro are known for being exceptionally dangerous in many places. For this reason, there are dozens of lighthouses lining the coast, built to prevent ships from being dashed against the cliffs. The few ports of interest on the island's eastern coast see a great deal of traffic, since these harbors offer shelter from the powerful storms that sweep up and down the Stormbreaker. Most of these ports take advantage of their location along a major shipping route, offering duty-free services and advertising hospitality.   Cyro's western coast is far too close to the Edge to make transport by water worthwhile. However, there does happen to be an underwater community of tritons living there. Their city is built on the Edge itself, in a place that would be precarious for any other than the tritons.
