There were two girls: one who saw fates and peoples’ minds, & another who saw their hearts. They lived in a small close-knit community, far from the world. Without their blood parents, they swore to look after one another, protect each other. The older sister, the one who saw minds and fates, swore to herself to make sure no harm would come to her younger. A day came when the fates screamed to the sisters. Soon, thousands would die. The world would be torn asunder, and changed forever. The younger, Cor Loquere, turned to her people, worked to find them a safer home. The older, Carae Degero, travelled abroad, searching for a way to put a stop to what was to come.   Carae found a team and a possible solution. She kept her eyes to the skies and focused on her task. They weren’t able to stop the destruction from happening, but they were able to halt and put an end to it.   Cor sought out her sister in dreams while she was gone. She checked in on Carae’s health, while Carae was too stubborn to care for herself. In the day, Cor searched for a new home for her people. While scouting, she was trampled by the very chaos Carae stopped. With her eyes in the sky, Carae never saw Cor’s death amongst the thousands.   After her success, Carae was not done. The tool she had to aid her had to be returned, or they’d risk facing a far greater doom. Carae journeyed back to the valley she knew to be home, even knowing she’d find it empty and barren. Worse, she found it broken. The land dying.   Distraught, disparaged, Carae tore the tool from herself and forced its power back into the world. Leaving her blind, but alive. Despite checking on her sister’s fate so frequently, Cor never forsaw this wound.   Cor and their village watched over Carae for the remainder of her life, looking down on her from their new home amongst the stars. Carae could not see the new stars throughout her life, could not gaze upon the skies as she had spent a lifetime. When her time did come, Carae was welcomed home with tears in her eyes and armfuls of forgiveness from Cor.   They stand beside each other in the night sky, protecting each other, always.
This is Giants' children's tale.
