Fey Cursed
The magic of fate and deals runs rich in the veins of the Earth, ever-flowing and manipulating events. Some beings have learned how to manipulate this energy and many more accidentally stumble into it. The term Fey Cursed stands for a wide range of magic ailments and bindings that deal with this natural and ancient magic.
Transmission & Vectors
While normally settled into the blood and life essence of those that first envoke its power it has been recorded that Fey Curses can be carrier in bloodlines depending on the nature of the specific curse. Some examples of such transmitted cursed could be dealings involving descendants like many a hag exchange or some lines of lycanthropy.
Causes
A Fey Curse sets into a creature when they invoke the ancient magics of the world, usually through promises or deals with magic creatures. It can be onset even by verbal exchanges between nonmagical beings if the emotions run high enough or depending on if they are in a nexus of magical power. Fey creatures often employ this magic to bind those they make deals with to contract, hence the name Fey Cursed.
Symptoms
The symptoms vary widely as each curse is more or less unique to the words and actions that caused it. Sometimes the symptoms are random as well, in the case of giving up peaces of your soul or being fate itself or maybe luck determines what you give up in exchange of what you seek. Some symptoms that fit this randomness that are often seen are altered or lost memories, unwanted change in physical appearance, sometimes even taking parts of the being themself.
Treatment
Getting rid of a Fey Curse is never a simple matter. In most cases it is onset to secure the honesty of both parties in some deal or trade. In these instances the curse remains until the deal is complete. In other cases, or for those trying to get out of their half of the deal, enlisting the service of a being with great knowledge of this magic is usually necessary, usually this person or creature must be as skilled or greater than the one who beset the curse. In some rare cases it is said the effects wear off over time or pieces lost to the curse return in times of turmoil or revelation.
Cultural Reception
People rarely try to invoke such magic as the repercussions can be random and dire. Often those that invoke them are setting curses on those who have greatly wronged them or willing making a deal with a Fey being when they exhaust other options.
