Ezor
Once known as the Isle of Beasts, the country of Ezor was founded in 1242 of the Second Age. Many attempts to colonize the continent were made, but all failed due to the large populations of dangerous and predatory creatures that inhabited it. A mortal man, Beren Caerhayes, came up from the southern country of Estoria and with the help fo some Children of Life made the first successful settlement. He founded the ruling House Caerhayes and later became known as Beren the Beast Slayer. With the help of those Children of Life, he created a barrier out of the Syrpt River (which flows from the easternmost side of the continent all the way to the western coast) that prevented any remaining dangerous creatures from crossing into the realm of humans. In recent history this area of the island has been used as hunting grounds for the more adventurous Ezorians.
Geography
Ezor consists mainly of farmlands and temperate forests. There is one large mountain range on the western coast, and several extremely large freshwater lakes. Its many coves and bays also make for productive fishing and trade regions.
