Lumenreich

Golden and Blessed...once...

Created by Marionette Du Auguste
Shining like a golden beacon in the sky, the miles-high spires of the capital city, Lichtenward, shine dazzling rays of light across the rolling hills and stalwart fortresses of Lumenreich. This is the kingdom of the gods, who dwell atop the skyward spires, though none have seen them in hundreds of years. Rolling oceans of amber grain covers the countryside in great swathes, interrupted only by the occasional river, road, or village nestled on the path to the capital.

Geography

Surrounded by mountain ranges on every side, this land is a great expanse of farmland, dotted by small forests and striped by clear, strong rivers. small cities are nestled up against the mountainsides, fortresses to protect trade through passes in the mountains, and at the center of the caldera, nestled upon a shimmering lake visible from any point in all the land, lies the golden city of Lichtenward.

Fauna & Flora

These lands are almost entirely domesticated, with wheat, rye, barley and corn, as well as the farm pests, such as mice and rats, that inhabit those fields, covering vast quantities of the open space. The forests are home to numerous species of birds and deer, as well as other herbivores typical to areas similar to northern Germany. Occasionally one might stray across a wolf, but they have nearly been wiped out. The mountain ranges around the caldera are a different story, teeming with mountain goats and mountain lions, the latter having taken a particular fondness to the taste of human merchant. The rivers are home to numerous species of fish and amphibian, such as salmon and salamanders. Inside the City of Lichtenward, especially near temples and the bases of the spires, you might just happen to see a gargoyle eyeing you from its perch, though no one is quite sure what they eat.

Natural Resources

Iron, marble, gold, copper, tin, brass, silver, aluminum and numerous other metals can be found in the mines burrowing deep into the mountains. Lumber is harvested from the small forests dotting the caldera, and the rural farmland occupying the majority of the land supplies the region with foodstuffs of all varieties, from grains to gourds to fruits, as well as meat from domesticated livestock.
