Trellym is a small world of islands consisting of 5 primary continents that typically have little interaction with one another. This is due the seas and oceans are notoriously dangerous, with aerial travel not advanced to traverse such distances.   There are 7 distinct societies typically occupying a continent or collection of islands. Each society differs from the rest from weapon to design to laws. Vallen, TBD, TBD, TBD, Gaea, TBD and TBD. Vallen TBD and TBD are the most involved with one another because they are so close. Although Vallen and TBD are joined on the same long landmass, the icy north is host to the more monstrous creatures and part of Vallen and TBD's responsibility is to keep those creatures north of the mountain range.   The world was created by the Kotoamatsukami, the collective name for the original 3 gods. Celestial beings have tiers of power, which is denoted by where they reside. Lesser gods walk the material plane, whilst the upper echelons reside on the divine plane.   Every 1000 years there is a mass apotheosis, where mortals can ascend to a tier of godhood. There is no limitation on who this can apply to, from ancient dragons to commoners. This information has been lost or concealed over time, and the method of achieving apotheosis is a mystery. Many powerful creatures and people still seek to achieve this through whatever means possible.   Magic on the material plane is natural force to be tamed and mastered. It is a resource, and can be harnessed or removed. Powerful creatures on the material plane have arcane wells that they may allow others to tap into, but it is a resource transfer, their well is depleted for as much as is used. This is also possible across planes, with deities, and devils allowing accessing to their arcane.
