The Underworld

The Underworld is a dimension that was created by demons, in an attempt to make themselves a home within the world.

The Creation of the Underworld

Long ago, demons were spread about Neranda. They were outcasts because of their odd and dark powers, and were very often hunted or attacked if they strayed too close to civilization.
In these times, the demons lived in nomadic tribes, wandering the lands, searching for a place they could call a permanent home.
Eventually, a demon named Gratezious found the answer: they must make a world of their own, where no other races would seek to bring them harm.
And so, Gratezious traveled the lands, uniting all of the demon tribes for one singular goal. They wove about a spell that would create a dimension, one that would feed on souls to grow and thrive. A dimension that only demons could create. And, for the first time, the demons had a permanent home.
On every continent in Neranda, a massive portal to the Underworld appeared, named "The Hellgates".
