1x05 - A Bloody Job

General Summary

A rain of bullet crashed around them. The vulcan ammunitions, loaded with microexplosive charges, hit the walls of the shop chewing metal and concrete, hissing menacingly in the air. On a second thought, maybe it was not an easy task.
Until then the debt collection job went well. The scholar Nassim gave them the birr without a second thought. A bit more problematic was the encounter with the second target in the list: the wretched and homeless woman named Reem wasn't able to spare anything but a pungent smell of arrash and a shallow gaze induced by the drugs. If not for Shaeen, his heart warmed by the situation and willing to cover her debts, the scene would have been played very differently.
And then, the third man. The hints that something was wrong with this merchant were already been obvious at the first investigation: an huge debt to be collected, his business dealing with difficult times, no family, friends or relationships in the station. And someone who recently took over his activities, someone with the mark of the Syndicate, or with clear connection with the organization. So, when they started tracking Babak, they were already prepared for the worst. After a first unsuccessful attempt in the merchant apartments, the group visited his shop. And there the massacre began.
At first they thought they could reason with the shady men working there, but few words were enough to spark a shooting between the shelves of the shop. However the enemies were not a match for the well-prepared crew of the Drunken Bitch, and in few minutes the fight was over, with several bodies on the floor, and a lot of blood to justify.
Unfortunately destiny is a bitch. One of the bodies belonged to Babak, his life taken by few stray bullets erupted during the fight. Only the skill of the group was able to save the situation, and thus the job: after finding the personal device of the merchant, they were able to hack through its defences, downloading a substantial amount of birr from his accounts before being cut off by the firewall.
And so, after cleaning the area from any evidence that could trace them, they left the shop, moving back on the Promenade.
