1x04 - The careless miners (part 2)

General Summary

"So, this is what the Dabarani believe. We don't attack civilian ships, we don't meddle with affairs of foreign powers hungry for new conquests. If some-wannabe-zealot think Nomads are behind these raids and attacks you report us, I must say we don't care enough to put an word against it. Clan Jebel travelled Melik space for the last five centuries. Dabaran came here… How many years ago? Ten? Twelve? As many empires in the history, they will last a ridiculous amount of time compared to us. Maybe few decades, maybe a century. But then they'll fall, and Jebel will still be here."   Onboard the nomad vessel, the discussion took an unexpected turn. Few minutes with the resolute but courteous Abbas were enough to change the group minds. If the Nomad clan is not responsible for the raids, who is behind them? Maybe the rival clan, the Chambi? The Drunken Bitch's crew took leave shortly thereafter, after a quite fruitless negotiation regarding the pardon of the miners. Another solution must be found if they want to ensure the Mahfuz safety.   Back to Shepard Terminal, the group kept themselves busy: after checking the status of the Mahfuz and their crew, they started taking control of the recently acquired company. Then they checked for new opportunities, knowing the funds they have will not last forever. Fortunately Fasid was able to give them an hand, and so they contacted Massoud Rafati, a successful but somewhat shady figure that seems has a lot of influence in the station.   And so a new job was started: a debt collection assignment for the wealthy Rafati. Nothing too risky at first glance, and hopefully nothing too dirty. The first target was an old theology scholar named Nassim. Javed was releived to see he didn't object in the collection, and extinguished his debts without second thoughts.   Well, it seems a quite easy task, after all…
