Mutables

Ever-shifting, Mutables are Spell-Touched affected by the magic of Transmutation. There are certainly some advantages to their state: they can change their appearance at will, giving scope to those who wish to disguise themselves or create fashion trends. Mutables can adapt themselves to nearly any situation, becoming stronger or faster as required. They are skilled artisans and can help small communities survive through harsh conditions. More so than other Spell-Touched, the Mutables are likely to gravitate towards communities and fashion themselves a niche amongst other humanoids. Some find this dull, preferring to pit themselves against the extremes of the Wildfire Sea or other phenomena. Others take up causes to fight for - a group of Mutables is currently leading a spirited defence of the Wylding, the intelligent forest beside Gorincks, but they take extreme measures and in many ways harm the protests druids are mounting against logging in the area. Mutables will quite often take on animalistic features or resemble the architecture of the settlements they live in. They might unconsciously alter their features to match the features of the people they talk to, mirroring not only their posture and voice but also their appearance.
