Quefkal City

Quefkal City sits on the northern edge of the region, and is well known for its high population of craftsmen. The city's docks are also impressive, and the fishing industry thrives. The individualistic fishermen of the Piers quietly disprove of what the routine overfishing of the Plantations is doing to the fish population, but understand that people gotta make a living somehow. The crafters dwelling in the landlocked parts of the city mostly keep that odd business out of their minds.

Infrastructure

The shores of the city are bedecked with piers, stretching out from every possible anchorpoint including other piers. Gangplanks and walkways cross between them, and huge concrete pillars hold up parts of the city that extend over the depths.

Districts

The Piers is where the fisherfolk spend their time. The city has commercialized fishing, but a lot of the best prizes are caught by individuals who fish as a pastime.   The Plantations are where those who didn't have the skill or drive to fish individually, but still felt some draw to it end up. Floating metal buildings with pipes leading under the sea, fish are caught with huge nets and suction forces rather than skill.   In the landlocked portions of the city, artists and experts of all materials gather. Knowledge, tools, and techniques are passed between the creatives like trading cards around a playground. If you wander here for long enough, you can find an expert on any kind of creation.

History

The city started as a fishing village, but they ran out of space as more people headed north. To accommodate, the city stretched out over the water. This provided more fishing spots, and therefore kept happening even when the surge of immigrants stopped.

Points of interest

On the underside of the walkways and piers, an entire ecosystem of binacle and other such Pokémon has formed.

Tourism

The fishing industries of this city keep it from being a vacation hotspot like Braslin to the south. Grey metal buildings sit along the shoreline, seaweed chokes what beaches there are, swift and dangerous currents prevent swimmers from relaxing.
