Jaslow City
Jaslow City is the northernmost settlement of the region, with a Gym Leader who is frequently out of town. The city's permanent population is mostly elderly people, since younger inhabitants take inspiration from the Gym Leader and leave to seek their fortunes elsewhere. However, the city's expansive training facilities attract just as many people for all manner of reasons. The city is built on and around the lower part of a mountain, with said training facilities running about a third of the way up. When he's in town, the rest of the mountain is the Gym Leader's domain.
Defences
The city is built around the base of a mountain, and is segmented into rings.
Districts
The city is structured into two rings and a huge center. The outer district is for permanent inhabitants, with a few smaller hotels for those just passing through. The inner district is for dormitories, where long-term visitors stay while using the facilities in the city center. The city center is without a doubt the main attraction of Jaslow City, a series of training facilities for all purposes.
There are areas that have been flattened and carved into the mountain's sides for standard physical training, and other flattened areas for battles. Further up, whoever was responsible for the level seems to have stopped, and now visitors must battle and exercise on a sloped and uneven surface. There are also caves that wild Pokémon have been released into to simulate wild battles, and other locations where a single misstep will draw out hordes to do battle. The final processed area of the mountain has specially trained rock- and ground-types who shake up the terrain and bringdown rockslides.
Points of interest
To earn a gym badge, challengers must reach the top of the mountain and defeat the Gym Leader. This is harder than it sounds, because the Gym Leader is a master at navigating the mountain and constantly attacks from a superior position while challengers attempt to climb. Defeating him mid-climb is almost impossible, but it is definitely possible to weaken him enough that he retreats to the mountaintop. Doing so gives you both an easier climb without him harassing you, and an easier fight with his team already weakened. However, this is still extremely tough.
