Jace

Jace is an experienced Pokémon trainer, specializing in bringing out the strength of his team. He is extremely compassionate, and always prefers to settle conflicts with words instead of fists. Despite this, when he does use fists he uses all out attacks to break through his enemy's defenses and crush them before they can return fire.   A large portion of his team are ghosts, able to surprise attack enemies and inflict the Flinching condition to further suppress foes. Though this strategy is illegal in league battles, Jace still hits hard without it and is currently undefeated.   At Dr. Morgenstern's request, Jace bent the truth around the actions of Team Relic to draw more attention to environmental causes.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Jace works out on a daily basis, and is extremely physically fit. He can be relied on to win a race, lift something heavy with the help of his Pokémon, or break something.

Special abilities

Jace was taught a special method of focusing by Sinclair, which helps him excel in one-on-one battles.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Jace is the son of Aria, former Gym Leader of Kalfkeen city. He spent most of his childhood learning about Pokémon battles from his mother and a few other gym leaders, notably Thysania. Jace trained for a while in her city, eventually coming second in Aromara city's fight pits. Political things that had been going on for a while eventually caused Jace's mom to be replaced as Gym Leader by a Fairy type specialist named Hans Anderson, and Jace decided that the best wat to sort out all this political stuff was to win the upcoming Pokémon League tournament and be named the Champion.   Being Pokémon League Champion would give him a whole lot of political power, and even if he didn't get his mom reinstated it would still be an accomplishment of the highest order. He began his journey by returning to Aromara city and from there going on a circuit of the region to collect the badges. In the Rumbling Forest, almost as soon as he began his quest, Jace met Connor and the rest is history.

Education

Jace was raised by a Gym Leader, who also worked as an archeologist and astronomer. Jace has a thorough education in Pokémon battling, and was instilled with a healthy respect for nature.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Jace has earned four Gym Badges, marks of skill given by a gym leader. He possesses the Elytra badge, the Phantoon badge, the Sisyphus badge, and the Skyline badge. The flame of the Phantoon badge can "reveal that which is hidden or hide that which is revealed".   With the help of Connor, he has defeated three of the ancient Titan Pokémon: Torterra the Slumbering, Wishiwashi the Shipwrecker, and Altaria the Predator.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Jace wants to become the champion, both for his own glory and to redeem his mother's name.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

Jace is a master at diplomancy, adapting even when he's out of his depth.

Social

Contacts & Relations

Jace's best friend is Connor, and the Gym Leaders Thysania, Carrie, Craig, and Zephyr are on good terms with him as well.   He has spent a lot of time with Marley, and after she fried his brain repeatedly the two eventually had a nice date. She very much likes him, but is being coy about it. He doesn't mind, though - it's part of her charm.

Hobbies & Pets

Jace's first team consisted of Blip the Dreepy, the daughter of Aria's Dragapult, and his Roggenrola Roggstar, who is definitely not an alien meteorite.   Roggstar has been revealed to actually have been an alien meteorite all this time when it absorbed a strange energy from a Titan Pokémon. Roggstar has since absorbed even more energy, granting it the ability to fly, hold on from lethal attacks, and a second typing (fairy).   He has since befriended and captured Verne the Driffloon, Rocky the Pancham, and Maverick the Mantyke. Jace has also been entrusted with a Phantump named Bastien and a Pokémon Egg from a Trevenant (to see the world) and Thysania ("It needs to be carried around to hatch") respectively.
