Kobold
Impressionable and un-intelectual creatures that make lairs in caverns and dungeons. They tend to lay traps and worship beings of power especially draconic in nature. If they cannot find a dragon, or creature that is similar, they lack any willpower of their own and tend to follow blindly towards the strongest of their kind.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Kobolds are egg-laying creatures.
Growth Rate & Stages
Kobolds tend to die at a young age, and thus stay quite small, however rumours say they can grow much larger, and, if they survive, have a growth cycle that is similar to that of a Dragon.
Ecology and Habitats
Kobolds inhabit dragons' lairs when they can but more commonly infest dungeons, gathering treasures and trinkets to add to their own tiny hoards. Kobolds make up for their physical ineptitude with a cleverness for trap making and tunnelling. Their lairs consist of low tunnels through which they move easily but which hinder larger humanoids. Kobolds also riddle their lairs with traps.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Physically weak, they are easy prey for predators. This vulnerability forces them to band together. Their superior numbers can win battles against powerful adversaries, but often with massive casualties on the Kobold side. These vast numbers create a pack-like mentality and will generally have a head of their tribe that is likely the strongest and oldest of the group.
Facial characteristics
Sharp teeth and reptilian features give them draconic-like facial structure.
Average Intelligence
Kobolds are not smart creatures. They have an Intelligence far below an average commoner (-1). They are un-wise creatures and easily influenced. They tend to have a Wisdom well below the average human (-2) Very un-charismatic creatures, they lack any real charm and have a Charisma below the average commoner (-1)
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Kobolds live in dark caverns, and as a result have developed a Darkvision of up to 60ft. However, they are not used to the sunlight at all and actually have a sensitivity to bright lights. They are not very perceptive passively. (8)
Civilization and Culture
Average Technological Level
The most insidious Kobold traps make use of natural hazards and other creatures. A trip wire might connect to a spring-loaded trap that hurls clay pots of flesh-eating green slime or flings crates of venomous giant centipedes at intruders.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
Most Kobolds speak their native language; Draconic, though some have been able to develop the ability to speak and understand Common.
Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Kobolds are craven reptilian humanoids that worship evil dragons as demigods and serve them as minions and toadies. In addition to the dragons they revere, Kobolds worship a lesser god named Kurtulmak. Kurtulmak's most devoted worshippers dedicate themselves to finding and releasing their lost god from his prison-maze. Kobolds hate gnomes and pranks of any kind.
Common Myths and Legends
Many Kobolds perish before they reach the end of their first decade, however legend has it they mature quickly and can live to be "great wyrms" more than a century old.
Origin/Ancestry
