Halfling Languages

Halfings are far too busy to bother with a language of their own. They use human tongues mostly, though will use the language of their neighbors in any case.

Common Phrases

“Gods smile [upon you]!” – Common:- a parting used by halflings when speaking to non-halflings
“Good morning, and good day after that! Don’t let anything curl your hair!” – Common:- (to which is sometimes added: “Ware the Big Folk, and mind the goblins too!”) a parting used by halflings when speaking to each other
“Hurbryn” – Halfling/Sylvan:- a term for humans used by brownies, halflings, korreds and satyrs, meaning: “heavy-footed ones”
