Personal history

Shava Mourningwhisper was born in Everfrost to a generational soldier father and a farmer’s daughter was her mother. While she, like many of the Elven children, would sit in the taverns through the evening, listening to the boisterous adventurers tell tales of many of the beasts they encountered, her father pushed her to become a soldier. Not some mercenary sell sword. Her family served. They performed their duty. It’s been over a century since she left her home, enlisting in the Kingdom army, being conscripted into the Legion, and escaping to Titan. She’s had no word about if her home or family still stands, and is on the opposite end of the continent to be able to find out.

Shava was a rookie in a four person group of assassins employed by the crown, and were sent into the Legion to systematically bring down a number of individuals in the higher ranks. In their attempt to kill their fourth target, a magical alarm was triggered, bringing the might of the Legion army down on them. After three nights of being on the run, and half the party already dead, Shava and her commanding officer were captured. While Fenton Willowwisp, her superior, stood proudly and calm while he was gutted, Shava was not as brave, and bent her knee when faced with death.

Conscripted into the Legion, she slowly gained her new superior’s trust, showing her skill with a bow and dagger in order to gain favor in the Tiefling, Nadir’s eyes. Sent with a group of similar conscripts to burn out a small encampment of rebels, Shava saw her chance at getting out from under the Legionnaire’s thumb, and assisted the other conscripts in destroying him.

After the harrowing escape from the Legion’s army, Shava made her way to the city of Titan. Alone, and cut off from her home, she attempted to sign up to the city militia, trying to find the same belonging she once had in her homeland, but was denied. Confused and angry, Shava instead turned to Mercenary work, though the thought of being a sell sword was distasteful. Knowing she would have to build a reputation, Shava began taking jobs that worked for or along side the crown’s guard, but after the benevolent Duke’s assassination, her trust in the current guard was far overblown, and vowed to seek out the assassins herself. Now, with the new Duke’s corruption in full view of the public, she now had little interest in serving the current system of law. Instead, Shava would hunt down the old Duke’s assassins and find a suitable, noble replacement for the current rulership.

With the Duke’s assassins dead, and his corrupt replacement fallen at her hands, Shava was intent on assisting Burr take leadership of Titan, and to hunt down the illithid invasion of the city.

In 25252, Shava Mourningwhisper was killed by Gaelen, then resurrected in order to fulfill his plot to set himself up as a new leader for the Mindflayers in Titan. He transformed Shava into an Illithid, who wiped out the previous colony of Mindflayers, and continues to be a thorn in the lives of the current heroes of Titan, most notably Praxis and Wraak.

Shava was the last hope for Titan. Shava was a freedom fighter from beyond Titan who was forced to Titan and forced to try to save it. Shava never wanted to be the hero, but felt obligated as everyone around her was incompetent. Shava eventually taunted one of her rivals, which led to her capture. She did not bend to their will, so she was broken.
