Elendaoin Empire

The Elendaoin Empire is the astral sea faring civilization of the Astral Elves that rule over the domain of the astral near the Shattered Sphere. The Elendaoin Empire is ruled by many noble families, with four major noble families making up the ruling caste these families are; Nua Isildel: House of the Moon, Nua Feancrith: House of the Sun, Nua Cemerek: House of the Earth, and Nua Elendaoin: House of the Stars. These four families all rule over their own domains typically independently, but the indisputable rulers of the empire are Nua Elendaoin, with the current Empress having descended from their line. The Elendaoin Empire is a sacred-hereditary imperial government, with the first born child of the ruler that displays their sorcerous magical bloodline, always being the next in line for the throne.
The Elendaoin Empire is committed to the universal concept of good as they define it, with all species being given the freedoms of life, independence, joy, and safety. These freedoms however do not extend to the groups and people that the Elendaoin Empire has marked as irredeemable such as the Illithid's, the Scro, and the Vaelin. The Elendaoin Empire will go out of its way to defend what they consider the ignorant and naïve worlds of the crystal spheres from these outsider threats. They try to prevent planetary invasions from those that possess a higher level of technology than the planets they seek to attack, as well as rendering aid to elven communities of these planets when they suffer from things like plague and war, seeing these planet-bound elves as kin.
The Elendaoin Empire has existed for as long as any living astral elf can remember, and even longer than some of the crystal spheres around them have existed, letting them claim the astral sea where they live without many claiming otherwise. The Elendaoin Empire is however struggling with the recent return of the Scro as well as sparse apparent sightings of the enigmatic Vaelin on the outskirts of their territory. They have always had poor diplomatic relations with the Githyanki who also call this area of the Astral Sea home, but since the Githyanki also hunt the Illithid and stand to defend the spheres in their own way, they have a standing truce with the Elendaoin Empire, but skirmishes to break out from time to time.
Many Astral Elves of the Elendaoin Empire live in the Garden Worlds of the four Noble Families. These Garden Worlds are not what outsiders might think, but instead are large physical construction grown out of living crystalline plants. These plants grow to incredible size, and thus gardens of them are made until a huge platform that a metropolis can be built upon is made. These large garden platforms thusly are then shaped and grown into the shapes of houses, infrastructure, and all other physical buildings the astral elves living upon these crystal cities may need. Each noble family uses a slightly different varietal of these crystal plants, and their Garden Worlds then differ from one another. Some of these Garden worlds are large enough to hold millions of Astral Elves, while many hold ten's of thousands.
Apart from the Garden Worlds of the Elendaoin Empire, they also hold a number of outposts constructed on large asteroids across several crystal spheres, as well as independently drifting along the flow rivers of the Astral Sea.
