Dwarves

Ever an industrious race the dwarves long ago discovered that the great heat of the magma that lies inside the many volcanic islands of the world can be tapped and that power can be used to create all manner of wonders. Knowing that this could be a great tool for their race they set about developing this skill in secret, while also securing every volcano they could. Those dwarves sent out to search for new volcanoes (called Taalmarr in dwarven) became known as the Hill Dwarves while those that stayed built their homeland into the great city of Vakaer and became the Mountain Dwarves.   Even today the dwarves keep the secret of their great fire wheels a close secret, never allowing outsiders to step foot into their underground workshops. Not that the casual visitor to a dwarven island would ever know, the majority of a dwarven city is built on the coast and are among the most welcoming harbors a sailor can find themselves in.   The dwarves of Tino'moutre are a generally jovial people who delight in sharing the fruits of their labors, be they finely crafted equipment or strong brewed spirits. But the threats of living on volcanic islands have made them hardy and decisive when swift action is needed.
Age
Dwarves mature similarly to humans but live slightly longer due to their innate toughness. They are accepted as adults in their late teens and most live to be over 100 years old.
Alignment
The demands of maintaining a world spanning secret impresses the need for strong laws onto most dwarves early while their jovial nature tends to keep the worst tendencies of that structure at bay.  They are almost always either lawful or good, usual both.
